Oh Morocco, where to begin...
To preface, I knew from the beginning that Morocco is a third world country but nothing could have prepared me for the culture shock I felt the first night. However, after getting through the speed bumps of the first day we had a brilliant time watching the sun set over the Sahara, camping in the desert and riding camels.
Our lovely room at the Equity Point Hostel in Marrakech. The beds had a cool canopy that gave it a very Moroccan feel.

The food spread in the Djemaa el Fna
As Callie would say, this is my smiling 'I want to kill you' face :)
Kabobs and couscous
Up bright and early for our 24 hour desert adventure
Stop 1 of 20
Buds
That rock looking thing in the bushes is a van that crashed down the mountain. Very comforting, especially given people drive 80 mph around blind curves with no railing on the mountain road. Def almost lost my lunch a couple times on this trip!
On the road
Our white van...well isn't that cliché
It was just a little dusty at certain parts
A cool restaurant we stopped at
The Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou. This ancient city was built by the Berbers from the 14th century onwards. Apparently there is one family that still lives here.
Our awesome group!
Back in the van...
CAMELS!!
Callie montage ahead:
My Brazilian buddy
Sunset
I had a renegade camel that immediately went to raid our food after I dismounted
We made it to the desert at last!
Chillin in our awesome tent
Later on in the night the Berbers came and poured tea for us and made us some dinner
Tangine chicken with veggies
There was a full moon
We had an awesome bonfire and drum sesh
Sunrise...one of the Berbers came by our tent clapping
Still very sleepy and cold!
Breakfast a la Sahara
One of the few instruction the Berber's gave us, "The world is your bathroom."
On our way back to the van and Marrakech
Setters of Arabia!
There were several little shops set up along the ride like this one
A movie studio where Babel and Gladiator were filmed
Back in Marrakech in the Djemaa el Fna. There were tons of people everywhere.
The awesome narrow streets around the town
